I just watched Taking Chance with the Hubs. I don't believe I've ever seen a movie that treated the military with such respect before.

From IMDB: Based on real-life events, Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, a volunteer military escort officer, accompanies the body of 19-year-old Marine Chance Phelps back to his hometown of Dubois, Wyoming.
This movie is touching in so many ways, in the caring for PFC Phelps' body, in Lt. Col Strobl's completion of his duty, and in the respect and appreciation of the civilians around him and Phelps. I can't express how glad I am that Kevin Bacon got the honor of being in this movie. Watch Taking Chance. As a Marine Corps wife (and Army daughter), I'm really happy that I did. Keep the tissue handy.

Finally had the chance to see New Moon and wow. I am impressed. Kristen can act! Ok i know that's a little harsh but Twilight was so rushed it was hard to like her. I actually cried {shut up} twice {seriously shut it!} while watching this one. Everyone seemed so much more comfortable with there characters and it showed big time. I cant wait to see it again in the theater. How long til Eclipse is out? Man i'm clearly hooked on this stuff.

Down side is my throat is killing me! No clue why and the cough drops are not helping. Hopefully some sleep will fix me up.

While this wasn't the greatest birthday I've ever had -- on again/off again flu symptoms kind of suck -- it was far from the worst, and you all helped make it a much better day with the virtual gifts, emails, e-cards, PMs, comments and LJ shout-outs (and if, god forbid, I've left you out on this list, it's totally unintentional. Poke me so I can add you!).
